In a zone of smoke and broken mirrors so what do you really know?

A joke’s a joke and I love to laugh but this one’s getting old,
An overdose of thunder claps and pretty maids all in a row.
Another year gone up in smoke, a magic trick to dust and bones,
A savage sip of southern comfort zones to make my hunger go.

But somewhere there’s an answer to the shadows and their dancing
Where the nights are less polluted by the jack o’ lantern’s laughing,
Where we can pat the Buddha bellies while all the genies lamping,
And we’ll all turn into fishes and all the wishes will be granted.
